Shankh Prakshalna is a procedure in Hathayoga that is used for complete cleansing of the alimentary canal. The procedure starts with taking a light dinner on the night before the day of performing this procedure. On the next morning, Kunjal is to be done at first. After that warm water with lime and salt is to be drunk. After drinking water, a set of Yogasan. In between the sets of Yogasan, you might have to go to toilet several times to empty your bowel. This is to be done until only clear water is discharged from your body. After that, whole day rest is prescribed. Light meals of khichdi with ghee are to be taken twice or thrice. This procedure helps in cleansing and overhauling of the body by cleaning the whole alimentary canal.
